| About me |
| Where I live |
I live in Scotland, which I love. I like the scenery, the quietness, the fact you can be in the middle of the countryside within half an hour no matter where you live, and also the cost of living is fairly low, which is excellent. I also love the sense of community here. |
| Where are you originally from? |
I was born in Glasgow, and grew up in Stirling. I love both. The place I'm in now is further north, and is ok...but I still love Glasgow/Stirling more.
| Do you want to stay there? |
I don't want to stay in the area I'm in, although I'd love to perhaps live in Stirling/Glasgow, and in the longer term, I've always wanted to live in Canada, which I absolutely adore. |
| What is your occupation? |
I spent a lot of my years studying medicine to be a doctor, but in my later years, decided I didn't want that kind of stress, and happiness and a sane mind is far more important. I then spent most of my time working with the Red Cross where I really felt and still feel I'm making a difference, which has always been a main goal in my life. I especially loved my time speaking in schools with them, about global issues. Kids are such amazing people to work with. At the moment I work as a civil servant full time so have not had so much time to do as much voluntary work. |
| What have you done so far? |
My main jobs in the past are medical, or red cross as I've mentioned, although I now work in the civil service full time. This is likely to be temporary, till I get into some kind of training. |
| What are your future plans? |
I'm not settled and complete in my life. My ideal life would be living in a perfect little imperfect cottage in Canada in a really beautiful place near a lake and trees/forest, with a partner I adore and who adores me. And I'd definitely have a dog too :) and perhaps a tortoise. |
| Your perfect partner |
My perfect partner would be loving, caring, down to earth, genuine, have a beautiful personality, be intelligent, love to chat about deep things and random stuff too, and she'd have to be very loyal too, but not blindly loyal. I know I sound a bit fussy, but I feel I have that to offer too, and I'd love some well matched in these things which I find so important. |
| Stuff I like |
| What are you interests/hobbies? |
My interests and hobbies include walking, camping, random drives, spending time with close friends. |
| Music |
I'm into all sorts of music except rave or trance. Nothing too hard. |
| Your fav tv series |
I love Monk, and Murder She Wrote, and Diagnosis Murder, and Everybody Loves Raymond, and Different Strokes, and Touched By An Angel, and Ghost Whisperer, and many, many more. Was I meant to just name one? |
| Your fav books/authors |
My fave kind of books are crime...fact or fiction |
| What sort of movies do you like? |
I love comedies, and courtroom dramas, but I'm pretty happy with most movies really. |
| Types of people you like? |
I like people who are honest and caring, and have morals. I feel most comfortable around people who are not too shy but not too outgoing. People who are open-minded, non-judgemental also put me at ease. |
| What kind of people do you find attractive? |
Looks are important to me as far as, I need to be attracted to someone. Being honest though, it's not the physical look that I'm attracted to, it's more like...an aura the person puts out. I can't explain it any better unfortunately; that's always been something I've found hard to articulate. |
| Food |
I love going out for meals, and I love cooking random things too. I'm vegetarian, and I love finding new places which cater for my diet. India and Canada are brilliant for this, and I love traveling there. I also go to lots of farm shop type places, as they do lovely home made food. |
| Drinks |
I do drink from time to time, but I'm perfectly happy not drinking too. I don't really have that many thoughts about drink. |
| Holidays |
I adore travelling. I've been to France, Denmark, Saudi Arabia, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada, America and I'm pretty sure I've missed out at least one place. I'm thinking of Switzerland, Egypt, Germany as my next few destinations. I would love to go to Japan and Thailand too. |
| Pets |
I love dogs, always have since I was a kid. I can't imagine not having one, one day. I'd like a tortoise too. I love most animals, although I can be a little bit wary of cats till I get to know them. I'm pretty sure they'd feel the same way about me I guess. |
| Fav thing |
I don't really know what my favourite possession is. I'm not much of a materialistic person. |
| Fav Place |
My favourite place is Canada. I love being somewhere scenic, and that has a sense of peacefulness. |
| What's your favourite radio station ? |
I'm not that much of a radio listener, although when I'm in my car, I love listening to what's in the charts mainly. |
| What's your favourite tv station ? |
If I could only have one TV station, it would have to be the one with all the forensic documentaries. |
| What's your favourite drink? |
My fave alcoholic drink would be passoa, and my fave non-alcoholic would be tropical fruit juice. |
| What's your favourite food? |
I love traditional South Indian food. |
| What are your favourite activities? |
I love camping, and socialising in a not-too-intimidating atmosphere. |
| My attitude |
| Family life |
I would love a long term "forever" relationship, like the one in fairytales. However, I'm not so daft as to not realise that I'd have to work hard at it. |
| Jobs&Working |
I would love to have a job I loved doing...hopefully I'll get there someday. |
| Money |
I would love to lead a comfortable life, and I'm sensible enough with my money, that I can't see that not happening. However, money isn't the most important thing in life. Happiness is far more important to me, and I'd do whatever it takes to be happy, but not whatever it takes to be rich. |
| Politics |
I follow politics enough to be able to vote, and I've run for the Scottish Youth Parliament. I've met a few MPs and MSPs too. |
